Events at SOUL CLINICS

Spitituality Fairs

We have held some other Spirituality Fairs at the May Day Festival in Earlsdon Coventry and the Leamington Peace Festival.

Our Spirituality Fairs

Then we felt called to do one in the autumn, at the time of the equinox  (Poster). The day was chosen because of a strange legend telling how the Virgin Mary appeared in Warwickshire on 21st September and commanded the Devil to drop the bag of nuts he had gathered. Those nuts now form a hill just outside Alcester which is known as (surprisingly!) The Devil’s Nut Bag. The place that was chosen was Studley Parish Church because it has started to hold services on the solstices, equinoxes and Celtic festivals. And because it has the unusual dedication to the Nativity of the Virgin Mary

Birth of Mary by GiottoIn terms of numbers attending it was our smallest event but by the end of the day those who had been there felt that something very special had happened.

Some Thank You Letters:

Congratulations for organising a wonderful and enriching event on Saturday.
As with all the Soul Clinic Spirituality Fairs, I love meeting the contributors and learning about their own spiritual journey through word, art and touch. I am greatly moved by the peaceful and nourishing energy that vibrates in the space you so beautifully create.

Just wanted to say that the event in Studley this weekend was an absolute blessing. Please convey my thank you to all the practitioners who gave themselves lovingly.
I came upon it by complete  chance but it definitely felt like a banquet blessing from God. There are so many people who consciously work for God and sometimes it feels as though we are forgotten and left drained and deflated from constantly attending to the needs of others. So I felt valued by the day and I really hope that you are encouraged to do more of these days.

Earlsdon May 2008

...and one of the contributors bought in a magazine which he felt was important. Produced by the Rudolf Steiner Association, it spoke of the medieval tradition of naming England as the Dowry of the Virgin Mary.   If you google image England’s Dowry you get several pictures of blue background and white stag kneeling. That’s the one you need. Refer/link to Fr Mark Elvin’s essay on the Dowry of Mary. www.christendom-awake.org/pages/marian/elvins.

That turned out to be the most important word of the day because a few days  later – on September 24th , the feast of Mary’s Dowry -  we were told of an event being organised by the Catholic and contemplative wing of Fresh Expressions of Church (http://www.freshexpressions.org.uk ).
